Referees wanted

 

 

If you would like to get involved on match days why not referee a game?  You don’t need to be a Pierluigi Collina (you know, the bald ref with the scary eyes) you don’t even need to run very far and there’s no multi million pound contentious decisions to make.

Just plain kids footy that’s fun and rewarding and your help would be greatly appreciated by the coaches. 

So why not give it a whirl. All equipment provided by the club. If your interested speak to a coach and get yourself involved. All we need to do is arrange for you to have a CRB certificate and you’re away!

If you are interested in coaching junior football then Thackley Juniors have opportunities available.

Coaching youngsters from 5 to 14 years old, the club will help and support you with your coaching qualifications.  You will be required to undertake a CRB check to coach in junior football.

Newsroom Text Box: This season’s presentation events were great occasions with 5 presentations being held across two weekeds such is the growth of the club. Everyone went home with a trophy with individual player of the year awards going to the chosen few. A big thanks to Helen Holdsworth, Lee Robinson, Ian Milner and Mark Bywater for their time and effort to arrange the events plus all those who lent a hand helping set up. Volunteering award presented to Helen Holdsworth

Club Secretary Helen Holdsworth has had her volunteering work recognised by being awarded the B-Active award by Bradford Council. Helen’s voluntary work for both Thackley Juniors and Bradford Esprit Diving provides sporting activity for hundreds of children. The B-Active awards are given out by the Council's Sport and Leisure Service to local people in recognition of their outstanding achievements that have encouraged others to be more physically active.

Bradford Council said “"Volunteers are the lifeblood of all sport organisations and Helen is involved in almost every aspect of organisation for both clubs including administration, managing the kit and arranging coaching sessions.

"Helen also demonstrates great commitment to increasing participation among young people across the Bradford district. In her role as chair of the Esprit Diving team she has helped to organise trips to Barcelona, Plymouth, Edinburgh and Southampton.

"Volunteering is important and it helps communities to thrive and enables people to learn new skills and develop confidence. This improves both their health and their job prospects."
